GreenPAK Advanced Development Board - Not Being Recognized

I have a project for the SLG46170 and have successfully run a software simulation of it.

I have an Advanced Development Board with the SLG46170 socket. Unfortunately, I'm running into issues trying to use the Advanced Development Board.

I have tried two USB connections on two different laptops and it behaves the same way. The Development Board is directly connected to the Laptop in both cases (no USB hub).

When I first plugged the Development Board into the laptop and started the Debugger, I received the message that the new device was being setup and that the setup was successful. But the buttons in the Emulation environment are greyed out.

When the Development Board is first plugged in, the LED next to the Socket Connector is lit up. I measure ~2.7V at that point. The VDD testpoint has no voltage.

When I open my project and start the debugger for Emulation, the LED next to the Socket Connector goes off and the LED next to the USB connector flashes. The VDD testpoint still has no voltage.

I've uploaded a screen shot of what I'm seeing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I can expand on anything, please let me know.

clam,

Thanks for your question,

Sometimes it requires to reconnect the board and/or relaunch the Debug tool, when you have connected the Development Board to the new port windows installing the HID-driver. Please make sure, that only one Debug mode is running.

Regarding the LEDs behaviour, when you start Debug, the LED next to the Socket Connector (the white one) should go OFF  and LED next to the USB (the orange one) should go ON. This is the normal operation.

Best regards,

Thanks for the help. I've

Thanks for the help. I've tried a couple different USB ports on two different laptops with the same results.

Two questions:

1. Should there be voltage at the VDD test point at all times?

2. Should the GreenPAK Designer Software recognize the Development Hardware and will this be displayed in the bottom right corner of the tool with a HW & FW versions (right now my are listed as - )? I've uploaded a screen shot of what I'm seeing with the area that I'm referring to circled in red.

clam,

clam,

1. VDD testpoint is 0V until you start the Emulation. During the Emulation VDD testpoint is equal VDDtyp (specified in Project Info)

2. Please see the answer in the attachement

Thanks for the info. I wanted

Thanks for the info. I wanted to duplicate what you had, so I created an empty project and started the debugger for the Advanced Hardware Platform. It doesn't look the same. The buttons, Emulation, Test Mode, Read, Program are all grayed out. Why is that? I've uploaded a picture of what I'm seeing.

Thanks,

clam,

Did you try to use another USB-cable, if yes, and it still didn't work, than your board is damaged.

This ended up being a HW

This ended up being a HW problem. Olehs was great at supporting it and helping me through the issue. I had to replace the Development Board and everything seems to be working well now.
